Nordique recently came across on the most beautiful Instagram accounts we’ve seen. Every single picture makes you look twice and inspires you to hit the road for a new Nordic adventure. This account happens to be by Finnish Joonas Linkola from Järvenpää, a young business developer trainee at a major operator in the Finnish capital Helsinki.
Joonas is a bit of a multitasker, not only is he a trainee business developer, along with running his successful Instagram account with nearly 50k followers, Joonas also has his own media/marketing company, where he’s helping both individuals and companies with their social media, which is easy to tell one of his bigger strengths. He also enjoys teaching and has for many years been teaching kids in school as a substitute teacher, which he describes to be one of the most satisfying jobs he’s ever done.
When did you find your talent for photography?
Self taught in about 2,5 years 🙂
When did you start your Instagram account?
I started about 3 years ago, but first it didn’t have any sense of direction. Maybe 2 years ago I knew what I wanted to share: all those good vibes from nature and outdoor lifestyle.

Where do you find your inspiration?
From nature and all the small beautiful things around me.
Who do you look up to?
My brother and sister, they are such good examples of perseverance.
When travelling around taking your amazing images, do you often travel alone or with a team?
I’ve always said that 4 is the best number, as it’s easy to fit all in the same car. Also if something happens its possible to split.

Can you tell us a bit about the equipment you use?
At the moment I am using Nikon D810 and various lenses depending on the situation. I just found my Sigma Art 50mm from cabinet and now I’m excited to use it 🙂 When hiking, I usually have Tamron 24-70 2.8 with me. And I also bought a DJI Mavick a few weeks ago; it’s so small and agile!
Where has been your most memorable trip?
In Finnish Lapland with my family, in the middle of winter. We hiked with cross country skis, which is pretty much the only option when you’ve got a meter of snow. It’s just a timeless place, the winter wonderland.

What has been your favourite destination so far?
I have an addiction to the Northern geography. Colder weather, wilderness and no tourists, please. Northern Scandinavia is on the top of the list, for sure!
What do you have planned for 2017?
I will travel for 3 months at least. Visiting Austria, Italy and Norway, and hopefully I’m able to travel for a living at least partly in the future. Some cool collaborations with nice brands and a lot of time well spent in the nature!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I think I could live in some other country for a while, maybe New Zealand or Canada? Maybe I’ll have my own ranch with some fun media production aside. But 10 years is so far away 😀
